Position: Global Mobility Advanced Staff/ Senior Consultant
Job description:
As part of the core-tax mobility team you would work on Romanian tax returns and related activities for the expatriates from various clients. You will receive robust training from EY in the Romanian tax technical areas before being assigned to the job. High quality, good tax-technical knowledge, efficiency and good communication skills are the key success factors for this role. The role requires constant interacting with the clients/expatriates in English language, Romanian language skill is not mandatory, but are considered as advantage.
Specific activities:
- Client support on mobility matters, in accordance with the scope of work;
- Discuss with the engagement team to understand the client’s business, provide practical implementable solutions, supports and takes ownership for the implementation of these recommendations;
- Utilize the firm wide methodologies and tools, including computer-based software solutions;
- Working on all engagements under the supervision of a Senior Consultant / Experienced Consultant;
- Prepares working papers and other documents in conjunction with serving the client (e.g., proposals, engagement letters, presentations, final reports, personal tax computations);
- Prepares specific tax returns and several personal income tax calculations/ assessments;
- Undertakes (in close collaboration with the Senior Consultant or with the Manager) consultancy/ advisory activities within tax, social security and general mobility aspects;
- Maintains the relationship with the Romanian national authorities (e.g. tax authorities, social security or labor authorities, etc.) and with other relevant institutions (e.g. intermediary bank, etc.);
Key Requirements
- Higher education within economy, law or HR
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in the following areas:
- Expatriate tax compliance: income tax and social security computation, related social security issues;
- Personal taxation consultancy: regarding the tax status/ tax treatment of various types of income;
- Double Tax Treaty interpretation/analysis
- EU social security Directive
- Compensation: salary, benefits, perquisites, bonuses and long-term incentives;
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Fluency in English language – both written and verbal
- Proactive, team player, pragmatic, with great ability to prioritize tasks;
- nice to have: previous experience with/ knowledge of: Romanian language skills, payroll and/ or any salary and tax computation software/ tools (e.g. Charisma HCM would be a plus);
Additional skills requirements:
- Good analytical, numerical skills
- Team player with good people management skills
- Ability to work with remote team members and use technology effectively.
