Your day at Ferring
Your main focus will be on characterization of protein and synthetic peptide substances from early research through the development phases and all the way to commercial drug product. However, as our project portfolio encompasses everything from small molecules to antibodies and viral vectors, as well as the microbiome, you will be able to develop and expand your expertise also within these modalities.
You will be responsible to plan, coordinate, execute, report and present your work internally to your CMC project teams and management. As part of this you will write and review documents covering development strategies, protocols, reports, risk assessments, etc. You will be working in close collaboration with other highly skilled specialists, contributing to knowledge and technology transfer across our organization.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Drive characterization activities in CMC projects within your area of expertise and according to relevant quality and regulatory guidance.
  • Contribute to short and long-term characterization strategies of our department.
  • Plan, perform, and support experimental work in our in-house state-of-the-art laboratories, as well as at contract manufacturers and contract laboratories.
  • Maintenance, qualification, calibration and troubleshooting of analytical instruments.
  • Keep yourself updated on relevant scientific and regulatory areas and contribute to innovation.

To be successful in this role we believe that your profile possesses:
  • Solid experience with protein and peptide mass spectrometry, ideally coupled to relevant separation methods and other characterization methodologies, including protein identification and determination of post-translational modifications. Experience with other modalities such as small molecules, antibodies, viral vector-based therapy and microbiome, as well as proteomic workflows and bioinformatics is an asset.
  • At least 5 years working experience from pharmaceutical industry setting or equivalent experience from academia, ideally with hands-on experience from MS-based laboratory work.
  • Experience in planning and documenting scientific work performed in a multi-disciplinary project environment.
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field.
  • Good ability to plan own and others work.
  • Fluency in speaking and writing in English.
